Junior year is the most important year of high school in the college admissions process. While admissions committees will consider every year of high school, including senior year, junior year is the one they will generally scrutinize the most.

That means you’ll need to work particularly hard and take plenty of high-level classes that complement your interests this year. You’ll likely face new challenges and experience, so it’s important to prepare yourself and ensure you can handle everything on your plate.

Be strategic in choosing classes for this year. Since this is such an important year for your transcript and college admissions, you want to prove that you’re able to handle a demanding curriculum. Read on for our advice on how to achieve a balanced but still challenging curriculum.

Because this year is so important, you’ll want to include Advanced Placement classes to demonstrate that you’re up to meeting the demands of a college-level curriculum. You may have taken AP classes or exams in the past, but you’ll probably take a good handful this year. Briefly, APs are year-long advanced courses that are intended to match a one-semester, usually introductory college course. After taking or self-studying the course, you’ll take the corresponding exam and receive a numerical score from 1-5, five being the highest. If you score well, you may be able to receive college credit, depending on your college’s policy. For an overview of AP courses, read Dew Womens Sterling Silver and Freshwater Pearl Stud Earrings GuCZC6

Many colleges accept credit for some AP classes but not others. Still, if a certain class on your list doesn’t grant credit for, say, AP U.S. History, it’s still a good idea to take that course and exam if history is a strong subject for you, because it shows that you are willing to challenge yourself.

If you’re deciding between APs that are of equal interest to you, it’s worth taking into account how colleges view the distinctions between and rigor of the curricula. Learn more in Are All APs Created Equal in Admissions? .

If your high school doesn’t offer certain or any AP classes, there are some alternatives. For example, you might self-study a test, start a program at your school, or take college classes. Check out Pandora Women Silver Bead Charm 797200 G1dV2X

I made this tonight, and it came out great! I made some minor changes to the recipe. After seasoning my chicken with salt and pepper, I then added cumin and McCormick(Perfect Pinch) Mexican seasoning liberally. I drizzled olive oil over the chicken to form a marinade, and let it sit for an hour. I browned the chicken in a pan and then transferred to a baking dish, and finished the recipe as instructed. I paired this with Spanish Cauliflower rice. Excellent dinner!

I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Casey, and your changes sound delicious!

Can you possibly add adjustments for those of us who don’t have ovens to use? (Too long to explain) I’ve been doing my best using a heavy skillet for the oven methods, I’m just not sure my meals are turning out as perfect as yours! We absolutely love and enjoy both your recipes and website/blog! It’s not easy finding meals for two….thank you ever so much!

Thanks so much, Linda! So, my sister actually always makes this completely on the stove, so I asked her what she does. She said she sprinkles the chicken with salt, pepper, and taco seasoning and then cooks it on the stove using this method: Besflily Jewellery Women Necklaces 925 Sterling Silver Magic Cube Cubic Zirconia Pendant Necklace with 45cm 18in Box Chain B4V8x21tpF

When the chicken is almost cooked through and most of the liquid has evaporated, she adds the salsa on top of the chicken followed by the cheese, puts the lid back on and cooks till the chicken is done. If there’s still a lot of liquid in the pan and the salsa is too liquidy, she removes the cooked chicken and simmers just the salsa uncovered until it has thickened. Hope that helps!

Blue jays are highly beneficial to the flora and fauna in their ecosystem: their characteristic 'jay' call warns other birds of predators, and their fondness of acorns is credited with spreading oak forests across North America.

The Blue Jay is a large, crested songbird native to North America with bright blue coloration. Blue jays are known to be beautiful, intelligent and highly aggressive birds. Blue Jay Information

Blue jays are large for songbirds, typically measuring between 9 and 12 inches long, and weighing between 2.5 and 3.5 ounces. Distinguishing characteristics of the blue jay include the pronounced blue crest on their heads, which the blue jay may lower and raise depending on its mood, and which will bristle outward when the bird is aggressive or frightened. Blue jays sport colorful blue plumage on their crest, wings, back and tail. Their face is typically white, and they have an off-white underbelly. They have a black-collared neck, and the black extends down the sides of their heads - their bill, legs, and eyes are also all black. Their wings and tail have black, sky-blue, and white bars. Male and female blue jays are nearly identical.

Blue jays typically live in small flocks, and are highly protective of their nesting site. When flying alone, blue jays are subject to predation by hawks, eagles and other raptors. However, when in groups they will 'mob' much larger birds in order to fight them off. Blue Jays can imitate calls of their predators, especially hawks, and may use these calls to test whether or not these predators are in the area. They will also occasionally use these calls to scare other birds away from food sources that the blue jays have come across. In addition to raptors, blue jays may attack other animals, including humans that come too close to their nests.

Blue Jay Facts

Blue Jay Habitat

Blue jays live in deciduous, coniferous and mixed forests throughout the eastern and central areas of the United States, and southern Canada. They also can be found in parks and suburban residential areas, and are frequent guests of backyard bird feeders.

Some blue jays are permanent residents of their range, but others will form into flocks ranging between 5 and 250 in order to migrate southwards. Much of blue jay migratory behavior remains a mystery - some blue jays may migrate one year, then stay in their home range the next, then migrate another year. Some people have theorized that blue jays may migrate if their winter food sources become scarce, or if weather conditions are harsh. It has been found that younger blue jays are more likely to migrate than adults, however it could be that the jays most likely to survive to older age are those that don't migrate as frequently.

What Do Blue Jays Eat?

Blue jays have very strong black bills, which can crack nuts and acorns. Additionally they like to eat corn, grains, berries, seeds, insects, and peanuts. Blue jays will often force smaller birds away from bird feeders, but will typically stay away from the feeders and wait their turn when other medium sized birds, like woodpeckers, are feeding. Blue jays will sometimes eat eggs and nestlings of other birds, but this is rare.

Blue jays are especially fond of oak trees and the acorns that they drop.

Blue jays will mimic the calls of predatory raptors in order to test whether or not their predators are nearby.

Blue jays need to either have large bird feeders, or ground feeders. Setting seeds on a ledge may do the trick.

Blue jays will attack humans if they get too close to their nesting areas.

Blue jays are very fond of peanuts.

Blue jays typically fly at speeds of 20-25 miles per hour.

The blue jay's coloration is due to the inner structure of its feathers, which refracts light. If crushed, the blue feathers will turn brown.
